Introduction

Normal Popups are just like the ordinary popups you see on websites. A standard template that has a headline, a subscription form box, a call-to-acti and suitable images. With the right platform, you can target visitors with unique popups.

Create Normal Popup

Lets start to create normal popups by following the below steps:

Step1: Click-> Uber Popups->Popups in Wordpress Dashboard this will navigate you to the below page

(or) Click directly “Add New Popup” from Dashboard as shown below

Step2: Select “Create Normal Popup” from the create popup page as illustrated below

Step3: By selecting “Create Normal Popus” you will be navigated to the “Choose Normal Popup” page as shown below

Here we have two templates :

Black Friday Popup - This is used to create normal popups. Simple Subscription Popup - This is used to create newsletters, invitations and subscription popups.

Lets get in detail in creating popup with the above templates along with examples.

Black Friday Popup

Black Friday Popup template can be used for creating normal popups.

At first, lets get in detail of how to use the template for creating the popup.

With the right platform, you can target new visitors with unique popups. In this case, it can be a popup offering a discount code which they can use once they subscribe to your email list. As a rule of thumb, this popup should showcase after a few seconds of landing on the page. This will help you minimize bounce rates due to impatient visitors not being able to find your deals.

Let’s get into the steps for creating a popup with Black Friday Popups template.

Select “Black Friday Popups” from “Choose Normal Popup” page as illustrated below

Click on “Use” this will navigate you to the below page where you can modify the settings and texts as required for your popup.

The text and style for the popup can be modified as illustrated below.

The Subscription email box and button can be modified as illustrated below

Parameters

The parameters in the Display Rules can be modified as required

Show After : Here you can set the time for displaying the popup after loading the page. for eg, If the time is set as 10 sec the the popup will be displayed in 10 sec after the page is loaded.

Where: This allows you to select where the popup should be displayed. it has 3 options, Homepage - To display the popup in the home page. Selected Page -To display the popup in specific pages. The pages can be selected from its drop down list. Site-Wide - This option is to select the pages where the popups are not to be displayed. The pages can be selected from its drop down list

When: Here you can mention when the popup should be displayed. Always - This option is selected when you want the popup to be displayed all the time.(without any scheduling) Schedule - This option is selcted when you want to frame a schedule for the popup to be displayed. for eg, If you want to display the popup for 5 days then, you set a FROM date and TO date here (from 10/08/2019 to 15/08/2019).

Device: This option is to select on which device the popup should be displayed. Here, 3 options are available. Mobile/SmartPhone Tablet Desktop/Laptop For eg, If all the three options are selected then, the popup will be displayed in all the devices. If only Tablet is selected, the popup will be displayed only in Tablets whereas its won’t be displayed in the other two devices. Selecting all the three options is adviseable.

Who: Here you can select for whom all the popup should be displayed. All Users- Can be displayed for all the users Logged in Users only- Can be displayed only for specific users like (Admin, Editor, Author, Contributor) You can select the required option from the drop down. Not Logged in Users- Users whon only vist the site.

Re- Targeting: Once shown, do NOT show this campaign again for : This option mentions that the popup will not show up again as per the selected option. Here, by default “Current Session” is selected from the drop down but, this can be modified by selecting the required option from the drop down list.

for example, If you don’t want to display the pop for next one week then, select the option “One Week” from the drop down list.

Once CTA is clicked do NOT show this campaign again for: This option is to mention that popups will not be displayed to the subscribed users depending upon the selcted options from the drop down. This is to also mention that the popups are not to be targeted again for Subscribed users. Here, the default option is “Never” -This is to explain that the popup will not be displayed for the users who have already subscribed by enetring their email address but, this can be modified by selecting the required option from the drop down list.

for example, If you select the option “One Month” from the dropdown list it means that the popup will not be displayed for a month after the user’s susbscription.

NOTE : CTA(Call to Action) CTA popups are used to Annonce a new product Advertise a new Product Promote an Event Obatin more subscribers. etc..

Update: After all the settings are modified as required click on “Update” button to update and publish the template in your website.

Let’s go for an example in creating a popup for “Black Friday”

Creating a Popup for Black Friday Sale

Here we are going to create a popup for “Black Friday” by providing the customers a coupon code on their subscription.

Step1 :Choose “Black Friday Popup” template from “Choose Normal Popup” page as instructed earlier. Step2: Click “Use” to modify the settings for the popup as illustrated below

The settings are customized as per the instructions that are mentioned earlier.

Simple Subscription Popup

A subscription popup can be located on any page of the website or blog where the users can fill in the fields with their data to receive emails on topics related to their interests. The primary purpose of the subscription form is opting-in subscribers to the mailing list. When subscribers fill in the popup placed on a website or blog, they express interest in the company and its products and services. Subscription is a universal and standard way to get users’ data,for building strong relationships between a company and customers.

Let’s get into the steps for creating a popup with Simple Subscription Popups template.

Select “Simple Subscription Popups” from “Choose Normal Popup” page as illustrated below

Click on “Use” this will navigate you to the below page where you can modify the settings and texts as required for your popup.

  1. The title for the popup can be edited here.
  2. The texts in the template and their style can be customized as desired with the help of text formatting tool.
  3. Default Subscription/CTA button that cannot be edited.
  4. Default Subscrition email box, the text here cannot be edited

You can construct subscription popups by customizing the elements to your liking. It is convenient to change fonts and colors when creating a subscription popup relevant to the brand’s identity.

To view the status of the created normal popups click on Popups under UberPopups in the Wordpress dashboard as illustrated below

Once you click “Popups” you will be navigated to the below page where you can view the status of the created popups

Here, you can also edit the created popup just by clicking on the respective popup.
